A few weeks ago, I was thinking what I should write about. Then a metaphor came to mind about “LEMONS”, I have had many trials occur throughout life but the past two years, I have been hit with some of what “I think are the toughest,” Once again but in life we will have hard times, I call them momentary afflictions.

Some, will definitely be harder than others but I learned yet another valuable lesson in these trying times. I had a metaphor, that we are all too familiar with and have all heard about “LEMONS”, and making “Lemonade”,we can choose to hold the lemons allowing them to go “Sour,” and “Rot.”

I consider this to be living off your emotions. Choosing to allow anger, bitterness, resentment to take root causing your “lemons”, to go “sour.”

I have held my “lemons,” long enough in past times. I remember being so angry carrying the victim mentality, everything I endured was everyone else’s fault but mine and if you told me different, I would probably tell you were to go stick your “lemons.” I remember people telling me I was “ a force to be reckoned with. Looking back now, I absolutely was “A force to be reckoned with.”

Today, I would say life has changed, I learned not to hold my “lemons” until they “rot’ and go “sour”, I learned how to make “lemonade.”

Hanging, on to my “lemons” made my “lemonade” bitter and sour when I held them too long.

I learned, there is a “lesson” to be learned in all things, if we look for it.

That way we don’t have to “juggle” or “hold” our lemons and we can simply make “lemonade”, if we look for the “lessons” and “learn” from them.

Which do you choose to make “sour bitter lemonade”, look for the sweet things, let go of your lemons and make lemonade?

Count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. -James 1:2
